“Double Trouble”: Maureen Ejezie, Paul Graham Collaborate To Save Young Girls

Straight from over a decade hiatus, Maureen Ejezie resurfaces on the beat scene with “Double Trouble‘, a song laced with highlife and some calypso touch. That is not the news persé.

The news is what inspired the offering, which Maureen explained in a brief exchange with www.beats-onit.com recently.

Giving insight into what led her to the studio in that regard, the mother of four who is also a board member of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), offered that the moral decay in societal values buoyed her desire to do something by way of impactful song to provide a better direction for the youth.

She further pointed out that her last visit to America where she ran into Paul Graham, formerly of defunct Diamond Records, a songwriter of note, provided the push as he encouraged her by composing “Double Trouble” to further highlight the social challenge which our young ones are confronted with.

Said Maureen: “The decay in the society and decline in moral values inspired the song “Double Trouble“. As a mother of four children, I could no longer sit on the fence or at meetings as a Director of coson and watch the persistent abuse of our young girls by middle aged men in our society.

“Our young girls are being corrupted by wealthy middle aged men with money to the detriment of their families. Most young girls have become side chicks and mistresses of the Rich. These men invade our campuses, shopping malls, places of worship to seek and satisfy their sexual desires.

“The bad economic climate is helping in advancing their interests. music. On my last visit to America, I ran into Paul Graham, formerly of defunct Diamond Records, a songwriter of Note, an entertainment Guru who shared my views and composed the song “Double Trouble ” to highlight the scourge in our society”.

According to Maureen, her target audience are the young and adults, even as she stated that her fans might moved on since she hadnot been recording songs.

Said She: “Having been away as a recording artiste for a over a decade, my fans have moved on. My absence was the sacrifice I made to raise my children.

The singer further lamented that the high cost of recording both audio and video among other issues, posed stiff challenge to her retuning as a recording artiste.

Said she: “My challenges in making a come-back was meeting the high cost of recording both audio and video and also striking a balance between my old and new generation fans with my style of Dead bits dads are abandoning the needs of their families for girls”.
