In the wake of the #EndSARS protests which culminated in the scrapping of the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) over the weekend, some Nigerians in the diaspora have already stated lauding President Muhammad Buhari for the action.

In particular, is Nigerian Canadian-baesd actor/film producer/director, Pascal Atuma, who has saluted Persident Buhari for what he described as his will to listen to the cry of many Nigerians against the prolonged brutality of SARS on the citizens.

In a video recording which was made available to our reporter, Atuma is seen thanking President Buhari for listening to the people and acceeding to their legitimate demand.

While also thanking all the Nigerian youths who turned out onto the streets across the Nigerian cities in their numbers to register their disapproval of the SARS’ excesses, in peaceful protests, Atuma said the time of their action was perfect.

Said he: “Use this feat as a starting point for leaving a legacy so that many years down the road, people will say he was the one who ended SARS; he was the one who ended lack of electricity; that he was the one who built roads, airports; the one who started paying teachers well; he was the one who started listening to the masses, and stamping out electoral malpractices”.

Atuma also thanked all the celebrities who spoke out against the SARS wanton behaviours, especially those of them who physically took to the streets to protest against the actions of the police unit, adding that he would have joined the protest if he had been in the country.

Commending singer, Davido for his role in the protests, Atuma urged orher celebrities to make themselves available in future if the need arose for a similar action just as he encouraged more of them to join their voices in similar circumstance.
