Said former Lady Captain of the Ladies Section of IBB Golf and Country Club, Dr. Joyce Barber, participating in her second Golf Sixes tournament: “Golf and the working is good for our health. It is just good for our musculo-skeletal system – the heart and the good companionship”.
Joyce asked for more tournaments adding “definitely I will go for it, 100%”.
Said Dr. Gabriel Olowo of Golfview Hotel, sponsor and partner of the GolfSixes Tournament: “it (GolfSixes format) shows tolerance. Shows cooperation and all of the ways for society to move forward.
“This is very nice for a lot of our senior citizens (who are living a sedentary life). It helps them stay in shape and live to a very good old age in health”.
Some other participants reacted favourably to the event.
Observed Ruth Oluwatosin: “It’s a new experience exchanging with other people, not finishing with yourself. It was fun – it was a different ball game”.
Noted Gen. Musbau Amolegbe: “it’s been very nice, a nice experience. It’s been long I had this type of alternate ball (play) and I had a partner who’s very good”.
Remarked Jimmie Sowetan: “the GolfSixes is an interesting way of playing 18-holes. You play six holes three times and you alternate team members”.
The next GolfSixes Nigeria Tournament will hold in a yet to be named venue in the South-South part of the country.
