Obi Becomes Labour Party Presidential Candidate As Utomi Steps Down

Mr. Peter Obi on Monday became the presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party (LP).

Professor Pat Utomi a presidential aspirant on the LP platform, it will be recalled, stepped down for his co-contender, Mr. Peter Obi, for the ticket of the party ahead of the forth-coming general elections.

The political economist and management expert announced that he was stepping down for the former Anambra State governor on Monday at the party’s presidential primary in Asaba, Delta capital.

Peter Obi had recently withdrawn from presidential contest in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)and pitched tent with the Labour Party (LP).
