Mr. Ejimkonye Nwachukwu displays his plaque from OSSAA

When on Saturday, November 5, 2022, Odofin Secondary School Alumni Association (OSSAA) held its second Annual General Meeting and Reunion, little did it occur to Mr. Ejimkonye Nwachukwu, a retired Mathematics teacher, that he would be the cynosure of eyes and main man of the event.
Though, other former tutors had been invited, Mr. Nwachukwu was the only one who honoured the invitation. The occasion which had already got underway at the Igbo-Ukwu Community Event Centre, Orile Iganmu, Lagos, erupted at this retired teacher’s arrival at the venue, spellling a stopper and effeverscent senario with his former students (now men and women) rolling over him in extacy, doing series of selfies.
Even as proceedings resumed, the alumni members of various past classes continued coming over to the high table to exchange pleasantries with their former Mathematics teacher.
Mr. Akintola, current principal of OSS who was on hand to welcome Mr. Nwachukwu, left for another appointment just as United Kingdom-based Mr. Solomon Ogbete, OSSAA president, went on to make a moving presentation, outlining the future developmental thrust of the Association.
In his brief address, Mr. Nwachukwu who describes himself as ‘a basic education teacher’, enjoined his former students to device means of buying into his project designed to broaden the scope of basic education which will be taking off soon.
He expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic reception accorded him just as he pledged to continue providing guidance where and when found necessary.
The highpoint of the occasion was a presentation of a plaque to Mr. Nwachukwu by the alumni as a mark of recognition and gratitude for his contribution to their development as respectable individuals, and fund-raising launch for infrastructure development in their Alma mater.
