NCC new logo
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has made public a new corporate logo depicting its madate to regulate copyright matters through the promotion, administration, regulation, enforcement and prosecution of copyright offences.
The corporate logo of the Commission, as as indicated in a statemet issued on Tuesday by Mrs. Ijeoma Egbunike, the Commission’s Deputy Director, Public Affairs, was approved in 2020.
The statement listed as well as described the components of the new logo as encompassing the functions of NCC in various aspects of the creative space, just as it asked the media and stakeholders to the Change of the Commission’s symbol.
Read the statement: “The new logo consists of:
“•The green-white-green slanting blocks (representing book spines) with the coat of arms and the letters “NCC” embossed, depicting the national colours, the flow of ideas and the dynamic nature of the copyright sector.
“•Under the blocks is the tagline “Protecting Creativity” showing the primary goal of the Commission.
“•The green circle represents creativity and reinforces the primary goal of protecting.
“•The blue circle represents the all-round wealth that is generated by creative activities.
“•The 36 red spikes forming a hexagonal police star represents the 36 States of the Federation and the 6 major categories of copyright works (literary works, musical works, artistic works, films, sound recordings and broadcasts) as well as the enforcement mandate of the Commission against piracy other copyright abuse depicted by the colour red and black.
“The Media, Stakeholders and the general public are hereby invited to take note of this change in the Commission’s Logo. All documents of the Commission bearing the old logo remain valid.
NCC is established under the Copyright Act as a body corporate with a common seal. Its mandate covers all copyright matters including the promotion, administration, regulation, enforcement and prosecution of copyright offences.
