He was sworn-in after the President-elect, Kashim Shettima, took his oath of office.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Tinubu winner of the 2023 presidential election he contested alongside the likes of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The new president will unveil members of his cabinet within the next 60 days, James Faleke, All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council secretary, has said in another development.
Faleke, made this disclosure in an interview with Channels TV on Monday at the event venue, saying thst Tinubu would unveil his cabinet as soon as possible.
Said he: “Of course, within 60 days, that’s what the law says. He can announce anytime but I just know he must do it within 60 days”.
Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari signed 16 constitutional amendment bills into law, including one that requires the president and governors to submit the names of nominated ministers or commissioners within 60 days.
The slow take-off of Buhari’s administration in 2015, was blamed on his late announcement of ministers.
Faleke, however expressed belief that Tinubu would act differently in accordance with his mantra of ‘Renewed Hope’.
