President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on Friday told that Nigerians were eager to know about his academic background. Timi Frank, a former deputy spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said this in reaction to a move by Tinubu to stop the release of his academic records by the Chicago State University (CSU) as ordered by a US magistrate court.

The court on Tuesday, gave CSU 48 hours to release Tinubu’s records to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, the president filed a motion before a federal judge seeking to block the order of the magistrate court.

The court has now delayed the order as requested by Tinubu’s counsels.

In a statement on Friday, Frank said Nigerians deserved to know about the academic records of their president.

Said he: “This fight should not be for Atiku Abubakar alone. Nigerians must rise up and demand to know the academic records of their president.

“Tinubu’s desperate attempt to buy time with his recent appeal is a huge embarrassment to Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

“Tinubu, please stop embarrassing Nigerians through this do-or-die attempt to stop your academic records from being released. Nigerians are eager to know who their president really is.

“Are Nigerians not entitled to know the authentic academic qualifications of their president?”

Frank added that the more Tinubu fought to conceal his academic records, “the more you damage the image of the country and its ability to attract investors”.
