Attacks by Gunmen on some communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs of Plateau state, have reportedly left many residents dead.
The attacks were said to have occurred on Saturday and snowballed to Sunday while residents were in a preparatory mood for the Christmas celebration.
The gunmen reportedly razed houses and looted properties in the communities, especially in Mushu village.
Reacting to the attacks, Caleb Mutfwang, G Plateau State governor, directed security operatives to apprehend the assailants.
In a statement by Gyang Bere, chief press secretary to the governor, Mutfwang condemned the attacks just as he called on residents to “remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security forces for immediate action”.
The governor commiserated with families of the victims, urging them to find solace in God as the government diligently worked to end the prolonged violence.
