Davido.
The challenges confronting Nigeria is due to “bad leadership”, Davido, Nigerian music acts has asserted.
The 32-year-old hitmaker emphasised this in a recent interview with Elevate Africa, just as he stressed the importance of strong leadership in driving the country forward.
The singer argued that Nigerians could thrive anywhere in the world due to their resourcefulness and determination.
Said he: “We cannot go forward without the best leaders. I feel like Nigerians adapt.
“Like I tell people, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere. We are survivors. We are strong people”.
However, Davido stressed that having the “right leadership” was crucial to unlocking Nigeria’s full potential. He emphasised that Nigeria could overcome its challenges and achieve greatness with the right leaders.
”I just feel the only thing missing is the right leaders. Everybody in the world has Nigerian friends. Everywhere in the world I fly to the Nigerian community is there. It just shows we are a force.
“Leadership is one of the main things. I think once we get that right, I do not think there is anything that would stop us”.
The singer previously triggered reactions after he advised black Americans against relocating to Nigeria, citing bad leadership, a high exchange rate, and skyrocketing oil prices.
Stated he then: “It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles. I do my part, I am an ambassador. When I go home and I am filming, I am no going to show the bad parts.
“I am talking about the situation in the country. Now the exchange rate is messed up, and a lot of stuff is not going well.
“The economy is just not good enough. The oil price is too high. Imagine the country that produces oil, paying more for it than a country importing oil”.
