State Gov Loses Mom, Son Within 24 Hours

Not quite 24 hours after the demise of his mother, Umar Namadi, Jigawa State governor, suffered another tragedy with the loss of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Namadi.

Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Jigawa State, confirmed the incident in a statement.

Abdulwahab Umar Namadi tragically died in a fatal car accident while travelling from Kafin Hausa to Dutse.

Reports disclosed that Abdulwahab lost control of his vehicle, causing it to somersault.

While Abdulwahab died at the scene, his friends who were with him sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital.

Abdulwahab Namadi, 24, died on Thursday, offered a statement by Hamisu Gumel, the governor’s spokesperson.

Gumel added that the late Abdulwahab was buried on Thursday evening in Kafin Hausa town according to Islamic rites.

“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.

“He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday,  December 26th, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.

“The burial rite is taking place at this moment in Kafin Hausa town, in accordance with Islamic traditions.

“A 24 year old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and many siblings.

“To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him”.
