A man identified as Gbolahan Adebayo, 23, is in the custody of the Lagos State Police Command for beating his 25-year-old girlfriend to death.
The incident reportedly occurred on February 21, 2025.
Confirming the incident to journalists on Monday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, stated that the suspect committed the offence at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Ijedodo, Isheri-Osun.
Stated Hundryin: “A neighbour said he saw the man beating his girlfriend in his room for a reason yet unknown. A few minutes later, the suspect screamed for help.
“On reaching the suspect’s apartment, he found the girlfriend lying unconscious with visible marks on her body.
“The girl was rushed to a hospital in Ijegun, where she was confirmed dead”.
