Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The failure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s security architecture has become deep-rooted and widespread, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has said.

Abubakar spoke on Friday in response to the killings in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State.

The Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) on Thursday said suspected bandits killed over 10 people in the LGA on Wednesday night.

The attack came seven days after some gunmen attacked the Ruwi community in Bokkos LGA as mourners gathered in the home of a deceased.

Over 40 residents have now been reportedly killed in communities in Bokkos LGA within one week.

In a post on X, the former vice-president said killings had become widespread across the country, noting that many incidents were unreported.

Wrote Abubakar: “The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has now become an endemic nationwide phenomenon with repeated killings, more of which do not even make the headlines.

“Nigerians are now being forced to get used to such news of wanton killings, and I again offer my condolences to the bereaved communities of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State and the affected families”.

Abubakar advised Tinubu to “reconfigure” security architecture to meet the needs of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians.
