The Nigerian Army on Wednesday, April 16, made history by appointing Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anaele as its first female spokesperson.
She was named the Acting Director of Army Public Relations and is set to officially take over the role from the current spokesperson, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
This appointment is seen as a significant milestone for the Nigerian Army, which has been in existence for over five decades.
