It Is “Beauty Day” At COSON House!

Loading

Today, Saturday, April 26, the most beautiful girls in Lagos will descend on the magnificent COSON House in Ikeja, as the auditioning and casting for the beautiful hostesses and ushers that will take care of the guests at the different COSON Week 2025 events, take place.

I have directed that the famous COSON red carpet be laid for the damsels and that the girls be treated with absolute respect and dignity. As a man with several beautiful daughters himself, and working every day with several distinguished beautiful women, I hate to hear that anyone takes advantage of a day like this to insult, abuse or take advantage of any of the girls or make any of them lose their dignity. Not all the girls will qualify for COSON Week, but none should leave COSON House without her self-respect and pride.

Yes, there will be a lot of photographs, a lot of fun and entertainment. While members of our panel will be looking for physical beauty, they have also been asked to look for character, poise, intelligence and communication skills. The girls of the COSON Week must be girls that give hope for a better Nigeria.

I know that COSON Week 2025 will officially begin at 4.00 pm on Sunday May 25, a date many have saved for several months for the big National Day of Prayer also called “COSON in the Church”. That is 29 days away for most people. For me the COSON Week has already begun.

The period of snatching just about two hours of sleep out of 24 hours has begun. Even within those two hours, I am in bed thinking of how to get the huge resources to support each of the great events we have promised, at a time of soaring costs.

It is a time of worrying about the different designers. Will they deliver as promised and on time? Will the printers find the right materials to print and get a finish as directed and will they bring the finished products as agreed? Why do I need two back-up generators to support the “COSON Mega Jamz” at Freedom Park? Will the different content teams make the right decisions and give to the people what they want? Will there be ‘magic’ in the shows? How do I deal with the calls from hundreds of artistes who want to be on stage at the COSON Week?

It is time to think about stage, costumes, sound, lights, projectors, LCD screens, cameras, streaming, broadcasting, etc., etc. It is also time to think of security, especially in this crazy environment. What if it rains at any of the venues, what is Plan “B”? I must think about everything and plan for everything. My training is not to leave anything to chance.

29 days to go!

I am sure that you have heard that in the last one week, a pre-production meeting was held at Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa Ikeja, where the 2025 COSON Week will kick-off on May 25 with “COSON in the Church”, the historic National Day of Prayer, featuring the nightingales of Nigerian gospel music and Nigeria’s most admired Ministers of the gospel. Circulation of invitation cards to the National Day of Prayer began during the week. I am getting calls that Nigerians are setting up their different Praise & Worship groups around the country and around the world to link up live with the National Day of Prayer, so that together we can seek the face of God Almighty to give our country and her citizens another chance.

A similar pre-production meeting was held during the week at Freedom Park, Lagos where “COSON Mega Jamz”, Nigeria’s first ever 24 hours non-stop live music concert, will ‘explode’ from 12 noon on May 28 to 12 noon on May 29, with a lot of dancing and skanking.

During the week also, distribution personnel began to deliver what is absolutely Nigeria’s hottest and most precious invitation to any event, the 150 specially crafted passports to the super-exclusive “COSON Green Ball”, the recipients having been chosen by Nigerians through internet nominations, and the holders of which will pass through ‘immigration’ on May 30 at MUSON Centre, Lagos, get their visas on arrival, walk the Green Carpet and be treated to the best entertainment to be found anywhere in the world, and the finest cuisine money can buy.

Do you believe that someone sent me a message yesterday, asking for 50 of the 150 passports to the COSON Green Ball?! in a country of over two hundred million people!

Invitations to the 2025 COSON Lecture to be delivered by erudite lawyer and top political player, Babatunde Ogala SAN at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, on May 26, have also gone into circulation. I had the honour of speaking yesterday with the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Professor Eghosa Osaghae, a very well-spoken gentleman, who promised significant help with the lecture.

Preparations are also heating up for other events of the COSON Week such as: “Children’s Day at COSON House”, on May 27, “COSON Medical Outreach” for musicians in distress, on May 29, and “COSON at the Mosque” holding at Central Mosque, Ebute Metta on Friday, May 30.

During the week, I received the estimate for the cost of refreshments and menu for the events of the COSON Week. I was in shock! It is the kind of money that would have built a mansion not long ago.

29 days to go!

Where do I find the resources to make all the hundreds of things that must fall in line, fall in line? I have been through this many times in my life and the Almighty has never let me down. When it appears like all hopes are lost, He sends an angel on a rescue mission. I verily believe that He will do it again.

Do not forget that I am the guy who drives on a full tank of faith!

See you next week.
