Nissi Ogulu. An animated short film inspired by the late Afrobeat giant, Fela Kuti’s early life is set to be released. Nissi Ogulu, Nigerian singer, is the brain behind this artistic project. The film, “Sopo“, which translates to connect in Yoruba, is loosely adapted from ‘Dis Fela Sef! The Legend(s) Untold’. The memoir, written by Benson Idonjie, the Nigerian broadcaster who was also Fela’s first band manager, was published in 2016.
