Not less than 10 persons were reported shot dead when unknown gunmen attacked a popular bar near the Okada Office in Akpehe, Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. The gunmen, believed to be suspected cultists, it was learnt, stormed the area at around 8:00 pm and opened fire on patrons at the bar, leaving more than 10 people dead and several others injured. The area has since been deserted, as the gunmen continued to fire indiscriminately.
